Flora and Fauna Across the World

Introduction

At Narayana Vidyalayam, environmental learning is an integral part of our holistic education approach. Under RIDS Activity – Action Plan No. 6, students participated in an enlightening session titled “Flora and Fauna Across the World.” The activity, supported by an engaging educational video
(watch here), encouraged young learners to explore the extraordinary diversity of life on our planet.

Objectives

• To help students understand the concept of biodiversity and its global significance.

• To create awareness about endangered species and conservation needs.

• To develop empathy and responsibility toward protecting nature.

Activity Highlights

Through vivid visuals and interactive discussions, students travelled virtually from tropical rainforests and grasslands to arctic tundras and coral reefs. They observed how plants and animals adapt to their surroundings and how every species, big or small, plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance.

Teachers emphasized the importance of preserving our planet’s natural heritage and the role each individual can play in protecting it. The session inspired students to think globally and act locally for environmental sustainability.
